Having a case of the Mondays

I already need a do-over today haha. I don't know what it is about Monday mornings, but my attitude stinks!  It seems like I get annoyed by everyone and everything. That's bad!

The Bible study group that I'm a part of just started a new one on the armor of God. And it's gonna be good!  The first week is talking about recognizing our enemy, the devil, and recognizing his attacks. Well, I can see where he likes to attack me- the area of children. Or rather, the lack thereof. I get myself twisted in a knot whenever I hear about these happy families filled with children, and families that have kids are just getting more kids. And I constantly feel like I'm being left out of this wonderful blessing. I do not like feeling this way.

So my challenge for today is to change my attitude. I I'm thankful for being able to pray at work and read God's Word at work. As I draw near to God, He promises to draw near to me. He also says that if I will resist this very real enemy, then the enemy will flee from me.

Ok then. Challenge accepted.

Here are some of the awesome kids/people that I am blessed know and be involved in their lives.

Wow, It's Been a While...

I almost didn't start a blog because I knew I would not be very good at keeping it current.  Well, that has definitely been confirmed.  Wow November was a long time ago!  Since I'm really doing this to kind of keep a record of this whole process, I would like to do a short recap.

Since the last post we have had Thanksgiving and several 5K races and Christmas and lots of family/friends birthdays and Margaret's wedding and High School Camp and Middle School Camp and Zumba certification (yes- I am now licensed to teach!!)... I could go on and on.

Also since then, we have made the decision to put the process through DHR on pause at the moment. We completed our GPS classes (yay!) and got a certificate (proof that we did it!).  There has been a lot happening in life right now.  We just weren't sure which direction to go and also thought that the timing wasn't right at the moment.  So in the meantime we are going to keep doing life together with our families and friends.  And we will keep spending time with and pouring into the kids who are currently in our lives.  We are so blessed with how many kids we do get to spend time with!

I don't know if we are ever going to have kids "of our own" but I have made a peace with that.  If it never happens, I still believe that God is good and that He does have a plan for our lives.  That hope is what I cling to when I'm in those low moments and wishing for what I do not have.  I also believe that if a kid that we know needed a place to go for a little while, we would take them in and help in any way we could.  So if someone is reading this blog, first of all- thanks, and secondly, please continue to pray for us!

As usual, here are some pictures to end this post!

Brandon and Margaret after the race- I love the medals!
